You`ll experience the lifestyle of nomadic family in a traditional Mongolian ger, ride camel, walk on sand dunes, and relax in beautifully serene nature. The Elsen tasarkhai literally means ‘’torn-off piece of sand’’ and it is surrounded by sand dunes,hills covered with trees such as evergreen juniper, monos willow, elm and sedge and a small forest near a river. The camels in Mongolia are Bactrian and have two humps. The semi desert is the perfect place to experience all the fun of camels which are surprisingly comfortable as they walk slowly and gently.
This tour includes historic sites from 13th century and Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape –UNESCO World Heritage Centre which includes Kharkhorum, the 13th century capital of Great Mongolian Empire. Monglolia is famous for being the homeland of Chinggis Khaan. The Orkhon valley has a rich cultural heritage, such as burial mounds, rare and precious monuments, inscribed monuments, inscriptions and archaeological findings that vividly show the culture of pastoral nomads from ancient times.
Erdene Zuu Monastery, ”Jewel Temple”, was built in the 16th century. It’s certainly the oldest Buddhist monastery of Mongolia and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in the category “cultural landscape of Orkhon Valley”. Erdenezuu Monastery was built on the site of the old Mongolian capital Kharakhorum using some of the building materials of the ruined city Today, Erdene Zuu remains an active Buddhist monastery, and at the same time a museum open to travelers.This destination offers you a good walk around its area visiting the temples. Furthermore, you can also visit the Kharkhorin Museum with findings from the ancient capital.
Khorgo Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park is a extraordinarily beautiful park located in the central part of Mongolia. It is home to the extinct volcano Khorgo, which rises up in the midst of rolling hills and meadows, creating an unforgettable landscape.The national park has variety of wild animals, including red foxes, argali sheep, ibex, and other species of birds and mammals. It is also home to the world’s largest intact caldera lake as well as a stunning gorge formed by lava flows.
This place is special because of the otherworldly landscapes created by the combination of mountains, a lake formed from a volcano eruption, and earth with moraine steppe.
Mongolia is home to the Mongolian wild horse known as a Przevalski horse (takhi). Takhi horse is last truly wild horse.In 1992 wild horses were successfully reintroduced in Hustai mountains. You can see deer, ibex, marmosets and birds of pray in Hustai NP.

After breakfast we drive to Elsen Tasarhai sand dunes through the green grassland; arrive at the stunning sand dunes, streams and rocky mountains, hiking around. Together this presents a unique combination of Mongolian mountains, forests and Gobi-type landscape in one location. See nomadic lifestyle and do camel riding. In the morning we drive to Kharkhorin. Kharkhorin was a capital of Mongolian Great Empire of Chingis Khaan in the 13th century. Now it is one of the biggest soum of Mongolia and there are some popular visitors` spots, including ancient Erdenezuu monastery, Kharhorin museum and Turtle Rock. Erdenezuu monastery was established in 1586 and has been a protected since 1944. In previous times the grounds held over 60 temples with 10,000 monks using them for their daily worship. Hiking in the Great King`s monument hill where you can see over the Orkhon Valley. The Orkhon Valley covering an area of 1,220 square kilometers (470 sq. miles) is one of the most important cultural regions in the world and was recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage as a cultural landscape in 2004. Early morning we drive to Khorgo Terkh National park. This large placid lake is ringed by sandy beaches. There are a number of ger camps around the lake, but camping is also very easy because of the sheer quantity of ideal sites to pitch up. The lake lends itself to swimming and is reportedly good for fishing, but the fish here are harder to catch than in other areas. The lake has volcanic origins, something that is easy to figure out by the trail of solidified lava formations leading from the lake to the nearby Khorgo Uul volcano. The volcano is worth climbing if only to walk around the crater it is easy to hire a horse and ride it up the volcano, which also gives you the chance to visit of the more interesting lava formations on your way, or cars can be driven almost to the visit almost to the to the summit. Khorgo volcano is a dead volcano covered with basalt lying to the east of the lake Terkhiin Tsagaan lake. There are interesting bubbles of solidified lava, named “basalt ger” and it is possible to visit yak herders in this area. Overnight stay in a ger camp. (B,L,D)
Today we have a day trip to Taihar Rock which lies 20 km northwest of the nearest large town, Tsetserleg, by road. The area around the formation is home to an ancient writings and paintings. Geologically, the rock was separated by Tamir river systems in millions years from the north side of the mountain. Mysterious Taihar Rock stands not far from Tsetserleg town. The rock is steep-sided pinnacles of granite with a height of 25 meters. It rises abruptly from the flat grassland in the basin of Tamir River. Locals worship the rock as a deity. There is no common agreement amongst geologists about the origin of this puzzling phenomenon, and it remains an enigma.Freshwater river, the rock of a thousand legends, dead volcano and relaxable nature are a nature lover`s paradise. After lunch we drive to Hustai National Park. We will make our way to the Hustai Ger Camp on the northern borderline of the Hustai. In the late afternoon or evening we will take a game drive with a high probability of seeing some of the free roaming herds of the takhi. During the day they usually stay high in the mountains and are rather difficult to see, whereas very early and late in the day they usually come down into the valleys for water and to graze. Today we return to Ulaanbaatar. After breakfast drive to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, enjoy a traditional folklore concert with the magical Tumen Ekh ensemble. Farewell dinner. Overnight stay in a hotel. (B,L,D)
