We invite adventurers who love the wild nature, wildlife, and are eager to ride the strong and resilient Mongolian horse to join us on this journey. Explore the breathtaking beauty of "Khuisiin Naiman Nuur" and experience its historical and cultural landmarks, while witnessing the traditional nomadic lifestyle of yaks. Create unforgettable memories on this luxurious and beautiful trip. 


"Khuisiin Naiman Nuur" is located 565 km from Ulaanbaatar, surrounded by majestic mountains ranging from 2700 to 3216 meters above sea level. The area features eight lakes named Shireet, Khaliut, Bugat, Khayaa, Shanaa, Khuis, Doro, and Bayan-Uul. The lakes are connected by underground water channels and are located between 500 meters to 3 kilometers apart. These stunning natural landscapes were formed during volcanic eruptions in the 4th glacial period, preserving a unique mix of tangible and intangible heritage.


This region is rich in forests, rocks, marshes, rivers, mountains, and water, making travel by car difficult or impossible. Therefore, the only way to explore it is on horseback, with yaks, or on foot.


On this tour, you will visit the ancient capital of Kharkhorin. Once the capital of the Mongol Empire during the reign of Chinggis Khan, his successors Ogedei and Mongke, Kharkhorin flourished as the capital of the largest empire in Central Asia. You will also visit the rare artifacts in the Kharkhorin Museum and the Erdene Zuu Monastery, Mongolia's first Buddhist monastery.   
 


You will travel through the famous Orkhon Valley, which has been the center of powerful nomadic empires in Central Asia for thousands of years. Climb the beautiful sand dunes nestled among the mountains and visit the Orkhon Waterfall. You will also have the opportunity to see the last remaining wild horse species, the Przewalski's horse, also known as the Takhi, up close.

Detailed tour itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Welcome to Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by Mongolgerege driver in the arrivals hall at the international airport or train station and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, free at leisure and have a good rest to recover from the jet lag. If you feel like going for a walk and checking out places nearby, feel free to ask the hotel receptionist for recommendations.

Day 2 Karakorum & Erdenezuu Buddhist Monastery

In the morning your tour guide and driver will pick you up and start your trip to Karakorum. On way hiking on Bayan Gobi sand dunes – surrounded by hills with willow trees, streams and bushes, and appear as a small desert in the center of the country. This sand dune is 80km long and the widest part of the sand dune is 9-10 km. Also, the sand dune called as mini Gobi Desert. The sand dunes are perfect place for camel riding. Mongolia is home to 2/3 of the two-humped Bactrian camels in the world. It is a gentle, calm and extraordinary patient animal. Head to Kharkhorin, a small village, and one of the country’s major tourist destinations. Historically known as Karakorum, which was an ancient capital of Mongolia Empire founded by Chinggis Khaan in 1220. Also, Karakorum was one of the most important cities in the history of the Silk Road.
After lunch, we will visit the museum of Karakorum and learn more about the beautiful ancient Karakorum city and Genghis Khan.Continue to visit the magnificent and the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 buddhis stupas.

Day 3 Orkhon valley and Orkhon waterfall

Today we will travel to across vast grassy plains, interspersed with basalt rocks and meandered rivers. Our slow progress on the damaged track leaves us plenty of time to observe the different scenes of nomadic life. Orkhon Valley recognized as a “Cultural Landscape” of the UNESCO World Heritage in 2004. Orkhon waterfall was formed by volcanic eruption and earthquakes some 20000 years ago. The Waterfall cascades down from a height 20 meters. Once we come, we will check in and have lunch. Take an excursion to the waterfall and explore around the nature.
In the evening, we will enjoy visiting the local nomad family to experience firsthand how people live in the country side and a lifestyle which has not changed for centuries. Prepare for tomorrow's trip. Pack your clothes, food, and necessary items. Bring the horse and yak cows closer.

Day 4 Start horse trekking to Huisiin Naiman Lake

After having breakfast, load the yaks with luggage. Ride the horse and begin your journey to Huisiin 8 Lake. Climbing the Tushee Pass, which is located at an elevation of over 3000 meters, experiencing the traditional nomadic lifestyle of herding yaks, and learning about the customs and culture, along with capturing stunning photographs and video footage of the natural beauty of "Mukhar Nuur" from the summit of the Tushuu Pass.As you cross the mountains, you will enter untouched, wild nature. You will relax in the beautiful scents of the forest and flowers, and your mind will find peace. You may encounter animals like argali, deer, wild boar, rabbits, marmots, and squirrels. You will make and eat your lunch. Once you reach your camping spot, set up your tent. In the evening, build a fire and sit comfortably.

Day 5-6 Horse trekking in wild nature

The horse trek will begin with the guidance of local herder guides, traveling through the Khuisiin 8 Nuur valley. The journey will take you through the beautiful landscapes of Khaliut, Bugat, Haya, Doroo, Khuys, and Bayan Uur lakes. These lakes are interconnected by underground water channels, with distances between them ranging from 500 meters to 3 km. This region, formed by volcanic eruptions during the 4th glacial period, is a marvelous place where both tangible and intangible cultural heritage has been preserved. It offers an incredible natural environment where you can experience all the sensory delights of the wilderness. Meals will be enjoyed by the lakeside, and you will rest in tent. (B, L, D)

Day 7 Hustai National Park (Wild Horse Park)

After breakfast, you will mount your horse and, together with the local guides, load your belongings onto yaks and cross the Shireet Pass. You will then descend to the Orkhon Waterfall and arrive at a herder's family. After lunch, you will get into a vehicle and head to Hustai National Park. You can watch a video about the successful reintroduction of wild horses.

Day 8 Ulaanbaatar city tour

Early in the morning, you will travel by car to see a herd of wild horses. Then head to Ulaanbaatar and visit Gandan which is the largest functioning Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. The main highlight of this monastery is 26-meter-high majestic gilded indoor statue of Megjid Janraisig.
Lunch at local restaurant in the city, then visit Sukhbaatar square which lies at the heart of the city surrounded by important buildings such as government palace, banks and theaters and post office. There is an equestrian statue of Sukhbaatar and a massive Bronze statue of Genghis Khan with his four warriors in front of Parliament House.
Continue to visit the Chinggis Khaan Museum – the museum presents Mongolian history and culture from prehistoric times to the present day.
Our next highlight is a famous cultural show in the city, which is featuring traditional performances by singers, dancers and contortionists. It’s a great chance to hear Khöömii (throat singing) and see some fabulous costumes. After dinner, transferred to the hotel.

Day 9 Departure

You will be free at leisure in your hotel or wander around on your own until being escorted to the Chinggis Khaan International Airport or train station for your departure flight home. End of service. (B)
